I often travel between my place and my parents' houses many hours away, and honestly, this case is a lifesaver for those trips. Before I got this, I’d just toss my Pro Controller into my bag. Unfortunately, this meant it was constantly getting jostled around, pressing the buttons and accidentally waking my Switch 2, draining the batteries of both before I even arrived. Having a dedicated shell to keep everything secure has completely solved that.
The quality of the case itself really surprised me—it’s a very solid, high-quality polycarbonate that doesn't feel flimsy at all. I love that it’s transparent so you can still see the controller, but the real win is the extra space they left for the joysticks. I don't have to peel off my thumb grips every time I want to pack it away, which saves a lot of annoyance.
Even though I only bought the one case, they included enough dust covers, thumb grips, and anti-slip rings for me to outfit both of my Pro Controllers. The rings make the movement feel much smoother, and the wrist strap is a nice touch for a bit of extra security when I'm carrying it in from the car. It’s a great little kit if like me your constantly moving your setup from place to place.
I picked this up to keep my Switch 2 Pro controller safe during travel, and it works perfectly. The hard PC shell is tough enough to handle being tossed in my backpack without worrying about the buttons getting crushed. A specific feature I really appreciate is the 'joystick cap-friendly' design—I can leave my thumb grips on and the case still closes easily, which isn't always the case with hard shells.

I have a bad habit of leaving my various console controllers on the floor next to my couch where they get kicked around or get coated with dust and cat fur in between use. With the high cost and newness of the Switch 2 Pro controller this has started weighing on me, so I was thrilled to find this plastic clamshell case for the controller! I had seen the bulkier fabric travel case style ones which are too big for my use; this hard case is *perfect* since it's not much larger than the controller itself, but provides a durable layer of protection while providing a buffer of open space for the joysticks and buttons to keep from wear and tear of them getting pressed on in a bag (or to protect from dust accumulation at home when not in use). I can shake the case around and my controller is safely secured inside, no rattling or scraping. And the case leaves the USB-C port accessible so I can still charge my controller while it's protected. Overall this is a really solidly designed controller shell! I don't usually leave the house with this controller, but if I did it would most definitely be travelling in this case!
OK... I did the work by taking a risk on this product. I wanted it to fit on other pro-style controllers for the Switch 2 (including 8BitDo), and to my disappointment, it is CUSTOM made for the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro. Now, I knew this would likely be the case going in, but I also wanted a review out there that could definitively tell 8BitDo and other generic controller owners the real deal. This fits none of the others. HOWEVER, if you have a Switch 2 Pro-branded controller, then this is exactly what you want. A custom-fit. I love the case itself, too. The snap lock works and is great, the weight is wonderful, but clearly protects, allows charge, and prevents accidental turn on. Finally, is the price. Do I think it's a tad expensive? MAYBE. But, the quality is there. AND... I also think the Switch 2 Pro controller is VERY expensive. So protection of things at a high quality also comes with expense.
This NANANINO Switch 2 Pro Controller Case fits my son's controller perfectly, its great for protecting those sensitive joycons. This case is also perfect for traveling. Overall its a great case for the price
